A Box Office India report stated, “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui had a slow start of 10-15% but collections were better in NCR and Chandigarh. The collections in NCR and Chandigarh will be the second best this year after Sooryavanshi but the opening in other circuits be it Mumbai / Gujarat, West Bengal or CPCI is very low. ” The report further added, “The film has a very Punjabi feel and that is why these circuits probably opened dull but then due to this feel the collections in NCR should have been better.”
