Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has witnessed a drop in the first Monday collections at the box office. The Benedict Cumberbatch starrer was released in theatres on May 6, Friday. The movie had made a decent opening at the box office on its release day. Benedict Cumberbatch’s multiverse even went on to cross the 50 crore mark at the box office in the first weekend.

A Box Office India report stated that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness made a collection of over 7 crore on the first Monday. The movie went on to make a collection of 7.50 crore nett at the box office. In total, Doctor Strange has by far collected 86.50 crore nett. The report mentioned that the movie is expected to cross the 100 crore mark this week.

According to the report, “Dr Strange – In The Multiverse Of Madness had a drop in collections on Monday but due to the strong opening weekend the film has still done very well. The drop in business was always likely as the film did not jump on Sunday. The film collected 7.50 crore nett on Monday taking its total to 86.50 crore nett.

Day 1 – Friday – 28,00,00,000 apprx

Day 2 – Saturday – 26,00,00,000 apprx

Day 3 – Sunday – 25,00,00,000 apprx

Day 4 – Monday – 7,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL – 86,50,00,000 apprx

As per the report, “The first week should comfortably top the 100 crore nett mark though how far it gets depends on the daily drops till Thursday. There may well be drops but it still should be able to do some decent business over the second weekend.

Meanwhile, the movie Doctor Strange features Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Xochitl Gomez.

Bollywood Bubble gave the movie 3.5 in its review.
