Today morning all the cinephiles received a pleasant surprise when Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan confirmed that they will be starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Inshallah’. As soon as the announcement was made the Twitterati went berserk as they simply couldn’t contain their joy over this ‘most awaited news’.

While this would be Alia’s first film with both Salman and Bhansali, the superstar will be reuniting with the director after almost two decades. Alia is one of the most sought after actress of her generation and now by sharing the screen space with Salman, she will be adding another feather to her cap.

Interestingly, prior to this film, the ‘Kick’ actor has never worked with any member of the Bhatt family. Yes, the superstar has neither worked with the hit filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt nor has he ever done any film with his equally popular daughter Pooja Bhatt. Despite being one of the most popular actresses of the 90s, Pooja and Salman were never paired in any films. And the reason will surprise you.

Well according to a report in Bombay Times, Salman’s father Salim Khan was the reason why the actor never worked with Pooja. Salim refrained his actor sons to work with Pooja as she was a very bold and controversial actress(owing to her alleged drug addiction) of her time. However, at one point Salman convinced his father and finally received his permission to work with the ‘Sadak’ actress.

In 1994, Salman and Pooja shot for ‘Raam’ which would have marked Sohail Khan’s debut as a director. Nearly half of the film was shot but soon it went over budget and later due to a conflict it was stalled. ‘Raam’ also starred Anil Kapoor.

While the actual reason behind the conflict was never revealed but it is said that it was due to the growing closeness between Pooja and Sohail. While working on the film, Sohail fell in love with Pooja and this irked his father Salim. Later Salman tried to intervene but things went out of hand and eventually, the project was ultimately shelved. This whole episode created a rift between the Bhatt and Khan khandaan and hence we never saw them collaborating for any project.

However, over the years things have cooled down between these two filmy families. Recently at Mukesh Bhatt’s daughter’s wedding, Salman and Pooja not only came under one roof but also spend some great time with each other’s families. The actress even shared a lovely picture from the celebration on her social media handle.

And so what the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor never shared the screen space with Mahesh Bhatt’s eldest daughter, he will soon work with his youngest daughter Alia. We are pretty sure that ‘Inshallah’ will be an epic film. Don’t you guys agree?
