Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ is successfully turning out to be the first big blockbuster of this year. Well, it’s also not a hidden fact that the film went through a lot of controversies as the group of Shri Rajput Karni Sena objected to its release over the alleged misinterpretation of the Rajput community’s history.

In fact, filmmaker Bhansali and actress Deepika Padukone even faced death threats during this time. Recently, during a media interaction, Deepika was asked that did she ever thought that ‘Padmaavat’ won’t release and how she felt about it. To which the actress said that she would have given her life to if she had to make this film release. (Also Read: Padmaavat: Deepika Padukone DENIES reading Swara Bhasker’s open letter)

The actress said,

No, I don’t think. I would have given my life to if I had to make this film release because that is my right as a citizen of this country. It is the right of everyone to ensure that when you create something, people have the opportunity to view and to see and to enjoy and to experience. So, if this film took me down that path where I would have to go to extreme way to whatever it took to make this film release, I would have done that.

She further added,

But no, I didn’t lose faith in that sense. I was very very certain that it would release. Yes, I can say that I wasn’t sure when it was going to happen, but I was very very sure that it would happen at some point,” added the actress.

Apart from Deepika, ‘Padmaavat’ stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh playing the lead roles.
