Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom’ collects superb amount in five days

Akshay Kumar fans have a reason to rejoice. His latest offering ‘Rustom’ has done a great job by earning around Rs 75.25 crore in just five days. Considering the movie had some tough competition from another biggie, Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Mohenjo Daro’, the box office numbers are truly encouraging.

In fact, the Monday business of ‘Rustom’ that was Rs 17.75 crore is better than the first Monday collection of ‘Sultan’ which was Rs 15.54 crore. Since Monday was Independence Day, ‘Rustom’ had a four day weekend and that benefited the movie to a great extent. The Tuesday collections saw a drop as the movie raked in Rs 7.75 crore approx. So, that takes the total five day collection of the movie to Rs 75.25 crore which is quite good. The movie should see around Rs 90 crore nett earnings in the first week which will prove to be the highest collections for an Akshay Kumar movie.

‘Rustom’ directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced under the banner of Zee Studios features Akshay Kumar, Ileana ‘DCruz in lead roles and Esha Gupta, Arjan Bajwa in pivotal roles.
