Bachchhan Paandey, directed by Farhad Samji has witnessed a drop in the first Monday box office collections. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon in key roles. The film was released in theatres on March 18 and saw a major drop on the first Monday. Bachchhan Paandey opened with a decent box office collection of 12.25 crore nett on the first day of its release. The Akshay Kumar movie is inching closer to the 40 crore mark with the latest it managed to collect on day 4 of its release.

A Box Office India report said that the Farhad Samji directorial saw a 70% drop in the collections from the day of its release. The movie minted Rs 3.50 crore nett on the first Monday. The film has made a collection of Rs 38.25 crore in four days of its release. Meanwhile, The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri continues to rule the box office in the second week of its release.

According to the report, “Bachchhan Pandey showed a big drop on Monday as collections dropped 70% plus from Friday. This was pretty much expected as Gujarat / Saurashtra had dropped big on Saturday itself and it was the extended Holi period in parts of the country. The collections of the film were in the 3.50 crore nett range.”

As per the report, “The first week collections will probably be around 47 crore nett and there will not be much coming after as it will be replaced by RRR at most places while The Kashmir Files retains screens well due to good occuapncy.

Meanwhile, Bachchhan Paandey also features Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez. Bollywood Bubble gave the movie 1.5 stars and said that it should be watched with a ‘stone-eye’.
