Vibe Box Office Day 1: Kunal Kemmu, Sparsh Shrivastava, Preity Zinta’s Comedy Drama Grosses Rs 2 Cr

Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe released in theatres on Friday, September 18 alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran-led Daayra. Despite the competition, the Kunal, Sparsh Shrivastava and Preity Zinta co-led flick has managed to impress the audience. As per trade website Sacnilk’s box office report, Vibe earned Rs 1.70 crore in net collections across 3,194 shows in shows. The Kunal Kemmu, Sparsh Shrivastava, Preity Zinta-led comedy drama’s gross domestic total stands at an impressive Rs 2.04 crore. As per the report, the film had an average 14% occupancy through out its opening day.

About Vibe

Written, produced and directed by Kunal Kemmu, the action thriller comedy clashed at the box office with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Daayra. The film started Kunal, Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir in pivotal roles.

Giving the film a 2.5 star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “The biggest strength of Vibe is its humour. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and makes good use of its central premise – two completely unqualified men finding themselves in a situation far beyond their capabilities.” The review also noted, “After a strong and entertaining first half, the second half becomes increasingly stretched. Several portions could have been tighter, which would have made the overall experience more effective.  Some developments feel forced and don’t entirely follow the logic established earlier in the film”
