Varun Dhawan’s comedy seems to be losing momentum at the box office. David Dhawan’s latest film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur, was released in theatres on June 5. However, the film has struggled to make an impact so far. After a disappointing opening, it has failed to see any significant growth, with collections remaining largely stagnant over its first six days.

According to the latest report from Sacnilk, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai collected just Rs 2.80 crore on its sixth day, marking its lowest collection since release. The film earned Rs 7.50 crore on its opening day and Rs 7.25 crore on Saturday. Sunday remains the highest single-day collection at Rs 9 crore. Since the start of the week, the collections have dipped further without any signs of recovery. The total India gross now stands at Rs 40.60 crore, with net collections of Rs 34.15 crore so far.

Day-Wise Breakdown

The film was released across over 2500 screens in India, making it a wide release for a non-mass-action Hindi film. Despite the extensive release, it opened to mixed reviews and faced stiff competition from other releases, including Hollywood hit Obsession and Ram Charan’s Peddi. With multiple new films releasing this Friday, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will need to show growth to secure a decent first-week collection.
