Gigi Hadid ARRESTED for possession of Marijuana in Cayman Islands

Reportedly, supermodel Gigi Hadid has been arrested for the possession of Marijuana. The star was on a vacation at Cayman Islands. The model was travelling with her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy. According to Cayman Marl Road, the star, when arrived at the airport was arrested as her luggage was scanned at the customs check by the officers on July 10.

“Utensils used for the consumption of ganja” were found when a more through luggage search was conducted by the officers when they found marijuana. Though the quantity was minimal for personal use, it was found in both luggage. Gigi along with her friend were arrested and were sent to the Prisoner Detention Center. They were arrested on suspicion of importation of ganja as well as the utensils used for its consumption. The two were released on bail after the process.

However, the two appeared in court on July 12. Post this, Gigi and her friend pleaded guilty and were fined $1000. The two are not facing any additional charges.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Gigi Hadid’s representative said, “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license.” It also added, “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”
