Manasi Salvi Mahadev And Sons

Manasi Salvi’s exit from Mahadev & Sons has taken a serious turn. What started as reports of reduced screen time has now escalated into a legal dispute. The actress, who plays Bhanu Bajpai in the show, has accused the makers of manipulation and contract violations. She has also initiated defamation proceedings against producer Saurabh Tewari. Read on to know what this is about.

Manasi Salvi On Controversial Exit From Mahadev And Sons

A few months after the show went on air, speculation began that Manasi Salvi would quit. Early reports linked her decision to fewer working days and limited presence on screen. However, the actress has now shared her side in detail. Speaking to The Press Journal, she revealed that she had formally emailed the producer and the network head, stating her decision to exit the show by May 15. She said she initially received no response.

Manasi claimed that her decision came after repeated communication from the producer. According to her, he sent messages and voice notes suggesting that the channel did not want her or her character, and that he alone supported her presence. She said this led to reduced appearances and an inconsistent work schedule over several months. She also stated that she has messages indicating attempts to make her believe the network opposed her.

When she finally sent her exit mail, she expected a discussion around contractual terms. Instead, she received a response on April 21 that read, “It was a pleasure to have you on the show Mahadev and Sons. We will finish your work before May 15. Please collect your contract signed copy by the producer from our office.” Soon after, the news spread across the set and media. Viewers also reacted online, with some saying they would stop watching the show if she left.

Manasi Salvi Takes A Stand On Her Exit

The situation shifted again on May 1. Manasi explained to FPJ, “On May 1, 11 days after sending me the exit mail, I got another email which said that they are retracting the previous mail and renewing the old contract. Now, this is not… tenable in the law. My lawyers replied on the same day stating that this wasn’t legal. Today is May 5, and till now the producer has not replied to my mail, but gone and ranted everywhere… We are filing a defamation against the producer for distorting the facts.”

She also addressed why she chose to speak publicly. “I have come to realise that silence in an ongoing legal matter is no longer seen as dignity or restraint. It is often misconstrued as weakness… Therefore, on the advice of my legal counsel, I feel it is necessary to present the facts clearly,” she said. She added that actors today rely on legal guidance just like production houses and cannot be assumed to be vulnerable in such situations.

Highlighting a larger industry issue, Manasi Salvi pointed to an imbalance in contracts. “Actors are often contracted as primary leads with a commitment of 26 exclusive working days, yet are utilised for significantly fewer days. In my case, 10. Despite this, exclusivity clauses prevent us from taking up other work. This imbalance is neither fair nor professional,” she said. She also claimed that her character was gradually reduced to align with the original Telugu format of the show, raising questions about her casting as a lead.

Manasi Salvi Backs Her Unfortunate Exit From Mahadev & Sons

Manasi further revealed that she has already taken up new work based on the official exit communication. She has also asked the production house to provide proof of any alleged misconduct or breach on her part but claims she has received no response. She added that her legal team has issued a defamation notice over attempts to harm her reputation.

Concluding her statement, she addressed her supporters. “Your support means everything. I assure you that I will continue to uphold the values you associate with me… I remain committed to my profession, my principles, and the law,” she said.

The dispute has moved beyond a simple exit and now raises broader concerns about contract practices in the television industry. As the legal process unfolds, both sides may present their claims formally. For now, the case highlights the growing push by actors to assert their rights and demand transparency in professional agreements.
