On Friday afternoon (July 4), two unidentified men entered his clinic, Harbans Nursing Home in Kot Ise Khan, Moga, Punjab, and shot him at close range. He was immediately transported to a private hospital in Moga, where he remains in a serious condition.

According to an eyewitness report to Punjab Mania, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and pretended to be patients. “The assailants came with a plan. They approached Dr. Kamboj posing as patients, then fired at close range,” confirmed the Superintendent of Police (Moga). The doctor was struck by two bullets while attending to patients. His current medical state remains critical.

Police sources have indicated that Dr. Kamboj had been receiving threats previously, though no formal complaint had been lodged. Authorities are now investigating all possibilities, including potential extortion attempts. Forensic teams have been dispatched to examine the scene, and the area around the clinic has been cordoned off. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being reviewed to identify the assailants. Multiple police checkpoints have been established across Moga to expedite the search.
