In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shiboprosad Mukherjee shares his working experience with veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar after her 22-year break from cinema.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee Opens Up On Working With Rakhee Gulzar
When asked how it was working with Rakhee Gulzar, after her break from cinema, Shiboprosad Mukherjee said, “There are many moments, they are wonderful. You know, it won’t look like she is working after 22 years. A veteran batsman is batting, it’s like one or two balls that you need. She is a veteran actress and a legend, so you don’t need anything. It’s a wonderful experience working with her. We wanted to work with Rakhee ji because, I think, as a director in your filmography, you need to add this experience of working with a veteran. We are also working with Seema Biswas, you need these names. Working with them, especially with Rakhee ji, the way she is clear about what she wants.”
He added, “She is sure of how to interact, dress, saree and makeup. Sabitri Chatterjee, another veteran, was in the film, and I saw her bond, the respect she had for Rakhee ji. This is a learning moment for me as someone who is working in the industry. For me, these moments are to be treasured. Rakhee ji is someone who believes in minute details, be it her saree or how to enact a scene. She suggests that we, as well, she will say ‘This is something I liked, now you choose as a director’. The kind of participation she had was truly amazing.”
Shiboprosad Mukherjee Compares His Character In Aamar Boss
Speaking of how different his character, Animesh Goswami, is in Aamar Boss, the actor said, “I think all of us have complexities. I don’t think these complexities make any difference, and when you are working in a certain kind of atmosphere, say in a corporate world, the stress level is huge. All of us are going through that; that’s when you need to perform; otherwise, how will you achieve your targets? Being a boss or an employee, either way, you need to perform. And it’s so sad that we lack the human touch in daily life. We hardly know the people we work with, and there are so many layoffs. We lack emotion towards people.”
