EXCLUSIVE: Aditya Rawal Reveals Why He Quit Being An AD After Working On Oh My God!; Says, “Some Auditions Led To Good Work And…”

Aditya Rawal is known for his work as both an actor and writer, earning praise for films like Subedaar and Faraaz. He has also co-written Panipat and previously worked as an assistant director on Oh My God!. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Aditya spoke about his experience as an AD and revealed whether he enjoys writing or acting more. Scroll down to read what he shared.

Aditya Rawal Shares His Experience Working As An AD In Oh My God!

When questioned about his experience working as an assistant director on the sets of Oh My God!, Aditya Rawal said, “That was actually my first experience working on a set. Maza aaya tha. Bohot kuch seekhne mila tha Umesh sir se, who was the director. Through the first schedule, I realised that ADing is not something I want to continue. I was already writing by then, so I thought, you know, I should once the film is done, once my commitment is completed, then I decided to kind of focus more on writing. And then you know, acting, I will keep training myself, keep learning, and when something comes, I will hopefully fulfil the role well. And thankfully, you know some auditions led to good work. Thanks to Karan Bajaj, the casting director, who, you know, suggested me for my first film Bamfaad. Aur fir waha se journey chaalu hui.”

When asked whether he enjoys acting or writing more, Aditya said, “Dono hi. I really enjoy both. I just finished a project early in January, and then to be able to finish that and start working on something new immediately, because you’re also a writer, that is just a great privilege to have. Also helps you sort of, you know, switch off from something. Move on to something else. Being a writer makes you a better actor and vice versa. Usme toh koi doubt hi nahi hai. Because aapko alag alag pehlu samajh mein aate hai na. So I just see that journey going currently.”
