EXCLUSIVE: Adnan Sami Recalls The Time Shah Rukh Khan Became His Personal Shopper In Venice; Says, “Hats Off To Him For Giving Me Clothes That…”

Adnan Sami Khan is a singer, musician, composer, and pianist. He has performed in Indian and Western music in many languages. He has been awarded with Padma Shri (India’s fourth-highest civilian award) for his remarkable contribution to music. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Adnan Sami revealed that Shah Rukh Khan brought him clothes during an AD shoot in Venice.

Adnan Sami On His Hawaiian Shirt Era While Shooting With Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor

When shown a picture of him in a Hawaiian shirt with Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Adnan Sami laughingly said, “This was part of the Pepsi AD that I did. This was interesting because my wife detests all of these shirts. And I had a philosophy behind these shirts: ‘Don’t ever be apologetic for who you are.’ I was fat, and I said I was going to make a big noise about it. So I was like, I will wear all of these colourful shades of shirts, and I will put it in your face. I used to tell them when they asked me about being the size I was, ‘Main khaata bahut hoon aur mujhe bada mazaa ata hai. I eat and I enjoy it.’ So this was a part of the whole philosophy of it, if you got it, flaunt it.”

Adnan Sami Recalls SRK Shopping For Him

When asked if SRK took him shopping during this shoot, Sami clarified, “I will tell you what happened, it was for this very shirt. We were shooting in Venice, and it was summer, so I used to wear Hawaiian shirts. And we were getting together for the shoot, and suddenly during that period, the weather changed. We all came with our summer clothes, but Venice decided to go through a massive cold spell. It began to rain, and the weather went for a complete toss. The temperatures came down tremendously. Because of the water and all, there’s a lot of wind and all.”

Concluding, he said, “So I brought only Hawaiian outfits with bermudas. And SRK was also producing the ADs. When he saw me, he said, ‘You’re gonna catch a cold.’ I was travelling for almost a day and a half and ready to crash. He asked me if I had something warm, and I was like ‘No’. I was feeling very jet-lagged and everything, so I went and dozed off. He was so sweet, he went and brought me jackets and shopped for me. Firstly, hats off to him for giving me the clothes that fit my size. I don’t know where he got those, but you know he did such a touching thing for me. Very sweet and thoughtful of him.”
