Bhumi Satish Pednekar has earlier portrayed intense and hard-hitting characters in films like Bhakshak, and she now steps into another powerful role as DCP Rita Ferreira in Daldal. When questioned about whether series like Daldal have the potential to inspire women to stand up for themselves, Bhumi Satish Pednekkar said, “I hope so. I feel in general ladkiyaan bilkul stand leti hai aur leti rahi hai. But maybe, on screen humne uska representation nahi dekha hai aur is show mein toh ladkiyaan bohot kuch kar rahi hai stand lene ke alawa, joh aap dekhenge. And, I think, the beauty about this show is ki yaha pe even though bohot ways mein joh gender biases hote hai uske upar comment Kiya Gaya hai.”

The actress further added, ” Lekin, in many ways, yeh gender ambiguous bhi hai. Because ek human being jisme kshamta hai kisi ko maarne ki woh isliye nahi marta hai kyunki uska gender kya hai. Usme sirf vo kshamta hai ki woh kisi ki jaan lena chahta hai. Aur uski bohot saari jhalkiyaan aapko is show mein milengi.”
