Manav Kaul is all set to feature opposite Genelia Deshmukh in the Aleya Sen directorial Trial Period. It will release on Jio Cinema on July 21. Trial Period also stars Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha, Gajraj Rao, and Zidane Braz in supporting roles.

The film follows the journey of a single mother, Ana, whose world turns upside down after her 6-year-old son demands a father on rent. This demand then marks the entry of Prajapati Dwivedi aka PD (Manav), who is in contradiction of their expectation. Even though Manav Kaul plays a ‘father on rent’ in the film, he is enjoying his bachelorhood in real life.

Ahead of the film’s release, Manav Kaul got in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble. During the chat, we asked Manav whether he is looking forward to get married or embrace parenthood, to which the actor had an interesting reply. Check it out:

Manav Kaul on embracing fatherhood


During the interview, we asked Manav whether he ever felt like embracing fatherhood, but he vehemently denied and said, “No, Never”. When we enquired whether Manav is enjoying bachelorhood, he replied, “I’m not enjoying, but this is the way I am. I know myself and this is the way I am going to remain.”

We further asked Manav Kaul if he ever thought of getting married and have a wife and kids. He told, “I will be like starting this app, father on rent. I will prefer doing that because I will be amazing at it (chuckles). For 30 days I will be great. I like kids, I like everyone, but for certain time.” Well, what are your thoughts on Manav’s idea?

Manav’s career

Manav has a career spanning over three decades. He started his journey in theatre and soon went on to don many hats, including those of an actor, filmmaker, playwright, and author. Some of his notable works are Kai Po Che!, Tumhari Sulu and The Fame Game, among others.
