Nandish Singh Sandhu On Being Replaced And Industry Realities

Nandish Singh Sandhu is a Bollywood and TV actor who has been working in the industry for over 15 years now. When asked about actors being replaced overnight in the industry and whether you’ve been through the same, Nandish said, “Mere saath ek baar bohot pehle hua tha TV ke time. I think it was in 2008 when I just started doing television. Us time par ek baar hua tha ek show ke dauran. Woh show ongoing tha fir change hogaya tha aur mujhe pata hi nahi tha. I just kept waiting for my shoot to happen. Mujhe laga tha call time aaya nahi hai, ab call time aayega, ek do din mein shoot shuru hone wala tha. Then I got to know from somewhere else that somebody else is doing that part.”

He added,” Uske baad aaj tak nahi hua hai. So yes, these things do happen. Films mein bhi hota hai. Web shows mein bhi hota hoga. Par thankfully mere saath nahi hua uske baad.”

Nandish Singh Sandhu And His Take On Film Criticism

When asked about how to deal with negative feedback and criticisms on social media, Nandish said, “Just put your blinkers on and keep doing what you have to do. Doesn’t matter. These faceless pages on social media, faceless people, they’ve got nothing better to do than to come on social media. Unka koi actual profile tak nahi hai. Fake profiles bana ke unka kaam hai comment karna. Why put your head into it? Why think about it so much?”

The Uttaran actor further added,” I’m not saying become blind. I’m not saying don’t pay attention to feedback. When there’s constructive feedback, work on it. But that has to be from credible people. Agar koi credible insaan asliyat mein acchai-burai karta hai, joh actual mein jiski shakal hai, joh verified profile hai aap jisko jaante ho aap uske feedback ko seriously lo. Lekin agar paid trolls ho rahe hai, paid negativity failayi jaa rahi hai ya koi aapke peeche aise hi pada hua hai ki fake profile bana ke aapke account par comment kar raha hai, then why pay attention to it? Nobody cares. Jiska wajood hi nahi hai us par kya dhyaan dena?”

Speaking about the advice he has received, Nandish said, “A lot of people have given me advice. I think positive, negative, advice, criticism, everything. And I take it as a learning. I’m blessed with a lot of good friends that I trust, and I ask for their feedback aur vo mujhe honest feedback dete hai.”
