Actor Sadia Khateeb has revealed that the slap scene with her co-actor Jagjeet Sandhu in The Diplomat was not staged but completely real. She explained that the moment called for authenticity, and both actors agreed to make it look as natural as possible.

Sadia Khateeb Shed Light On The Hitting Scene

Sadia admitted that the intensity of the scene left a lasting impact, but such dedication is essential for storytelling. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Sadia revealed, “That entire sequence was not performed, performed in the blink, in the heat of the moment it happened. It was a real slap, it was a real punch. He was really beating me up and that was the idea to bring the honesty at that point for me as an actor, was to make it look as real as possible. So even when we were on set, we were trying to make it less harmful, but it wasn’t happening in real life.”

She added, “So that really helped. At that point, I was injured, I was hurt. But when today I see that, I feel great about the fact that I’m glad it happened in the most real sense, because the reaction to it came out obviously real. The pain the tears and the wounds that came out in that moment were real. So it was and you will see the scene you you can tell it’s not an action performed based sequence. You will see the scene you will tell easily that it’s not something that is choreographed.”

She concluded, “It is hitting it is hard-hitting to people and people are taking it away If they are telling you that it gave you goosebumps is because that it has been shot in a real manner. The punches and the slap that you see in the trailer and the film are all real. Like, I’ve really had it.”

Sadia Khateeb On The Most Challenging Part In Playing Uzma Ahmed

The Raksha Bandhan actress recalled the most challenging part in playing her character Uzma Ahmed in The Diplomat and said, “The entire part that I played was quite challenging. It is absolutely not even a slight 0.1 close to what I have done before or how I am as a person. It’s a completely different story. The entire graph there is a lot of intensity and graph in the character of this girl. So it was very difficult to play but it happened with the help of. My director’s vision and my co-actors support it and the entire casting crew.”

The Diplomat is directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah. The film stars John Abraham as J.P. Singh, an Indian diplomat stationed in Islamabad. The narrative follows Singh’s mission to repatriate Uzma Ahmed, portrayed by Sadia Khateeb, an Indian woman allegedly coerced into marriage in Pakistan.
