EXCLUSIVE: Saiyaara’s Shaan R Grover Calls Casting Director Shanoo Sharma His Mentor; Admits, “She’s Been Rooting For Me”

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda-led Saiyaara has been immensely loved by the audience across the globe and managed to amass ov4er Rs 500 crore at the worldwide box office too. The film – which is being praised for its emotional story, power packed performances and incredible music, has made it lead actors overnight sensations. Not just the main actors, but those who have small but pivotal roles in the film – like ‘Mahesh’ Shaan R Grover, are also receiving the love and respect.

Grover recently opened up about the big part YRF’s casting director, Shanoo Sharma, had in him landing the role. Read on.

Shaan R Grover: I Genuinely Consider Shanoo Sharma A Mentor

In an exclusive shared with Bollywood Bubble, Shaan R Grover thanked casting director Shanoo Sharma for always believing in him, casting him in Saiyaara and being a constant source of encouragement. He said, “She’s been silently rooting for me since my college days, and I genuinely consider her a mentor. When I was wrapping up Dus June Kii Raat last year, I received a call from her office about a new project called Saiyaara. They were keen to test me for the role of Mahesh, and obviously, I couldn’t say no.”

He added, “Shanoo ma’am truly pushed for me, and eventually, I had the chance to meet the man himself, Mohit Suri. We vibed instantly. Both Shanoo ma’am and Mohit sir really connected with my take on the character and the way I approached the scenes. I think he saw something in me that matched the madness of Mahesh.”

Speaking about the journey, he added, “I worked hard for it and I was guided by my favourite Shanoo Sharma ma’am, who has believed in me all along. I owe this to you, ma’am. Thank you for everything. I’m supremely grateful to everybody I know who worked on this film and those I met while making it.”

Shanoo Sharma is credited with launch some of the biggest names in Bollywood such as Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and many more. While she’s one of the most celebrated casting director in the industry, Sharma’s name has recently made headlines with individuals narrating uncomfortable casting experience.=
