Shaan R Grover On Celebs Diwali Party In Mumbai

When asked about his views on celebrity Diwali parties happening in Mumbai and stars having to attend one party daily in new or unseen clothes, Shaan answered, “There are a lot of celebrity Diwali parties, as everybody knows, and especially in Mumbai. These are some just grandiose ways of celebrating, and to each his own. I mean, this is also a nice, cute way of the industry coming together, celebrating, rejoicing, and I’m liking it. I’m quite enjoying it this time because I was invited to a couple of them, so (laughs) I was very happy.”

He continued, “But, yeah, just to meet the same kind of people and making sure that you’re looking your best every day can get a little monotonous and tiring. But like I said, some people love it, some people don’t. But I’m quite enjoying it. It’s my first time, and yeah, it’s just nice to see good people around you at such a festive time and get their blessings.”

Shaan Reveals If Mumbai Diwali Parties Are Wasteful

Speaking of, if he thinks having so many parties is wasteful, given that the crowd is almost the same, the actor said, “I mean, I don’t really know how meaningful it is. But because it’s Diwali, it calls for people, families and friends to come together. So I think what better way to do that than by throwing parties and hosting people over. If I were in their place, I think I would have done the same thing. So, I don’t know. But it’s just one way to look at it. But also, just to have the same kind of people every day meeting and giving blessings, like I said, and spreading love is how we should look at it.”

Shaan On Celebs Wasting Money On Diwali Outfits, Accessories

When asked if it’s wasteful that celebrities have to source out new ensembles, accessories daily leading to fabric wastage, the Saiyaara fame answered, “I think sourcing new ensembles and clothes, accessories can feel a little wasteful, especially when you have to do it every day. And also because Diwali is about light, gratitude, togetherness, being simple, and not just being very show-offy and display. So I believe having simpler days, simpler nights during Diwali, like how I’m doing, celebrating with my loved ones, going simpler should be the thought, and not so stylish and wasting things. That should be the moral behind it.”

Shaan On An Animal-Friendly And Silent Diwali

Speaking of, if he advocates an animal-friendly and silent Diwali, the actor said, “Yes, absolutely. I advocate for an animal-friendly. Not a, not a silent Diwali, but, like, no cracker. I’m not a cracker-friendly person, unlike how I was when I was growing up. It’s been some 10, 12 years since I’ve burst crackers. So I’m a no-firecracker-friendly person, only because it disrupts the other species, you know, who are there along with us. So yes, I’m, I’m quite an animal lover. So I feel it should be animal-friendly. You celebrate it with diyas, rangolis. Do whatever you can. There should be mobility, travelling around, and parties. Do whatever you want to do, but just no crackers, I feel.”
