sudhanshu pandey, apoorva, abusive, gen-z culture,

After a successful modelling career, Sudhanshu Pandey made his television debut in 1999 and soon entered films with Khiladi 420. He gained popularity as a member of India’s first boy band, A Band of Boys, and later transitioned into Tamil cinema. Known for his role in Anupamaa (2020–2024), and recently appeared in The Traitors India (2025). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sudhanshu Pandey opened up on the abusive culture by artists like Apoorva Mukehija aka The Rebel Kid.

Sudhanshu Pandey On Abusive Culture On Reality TV

When asked about the abusive culture in Reality TV shows, Sudhanshu said, “So I voiced my opinion on that because I saw what was happening, only in that one episode, and I expressed it. Whatever my concern was, I spoke up. Some people understood it, and some didn’t. But those who did—great. I’m happy that at least a few people understood. And as long as some people are understanding and some can probably take care moving forward in life, my job is done. You know, I do not want to promote abusive language or disrespect towards other human beings.”

He added, “I would never promote that in my life because that’s not something we’re supposed to do. We live in a very civilised society. Especially in our country, I think we’ve grown up with very defined values—sanskaar. The sanskaar we’ve been given since childhood, we need to understand them, understand their meaning, and the reasons behind them. Because those very values define our culture, our traditions, and everything we stand for. It’s because of this sanskaar that we can differentiate between who our parents are, who our elders and siblings are, and who our friends are. If we start speaking to everyone in the same tone or language, then what difference remains? How will you define anything at all?”

Sudhanshu Pandey On Gen-Z Abusive Culture

Speaking about the Gen-Z culture, Sudhanshu said, “I think there are all sorts of people, and all sorts of younger generations too. The so-called Gen Z has been overly hyped, I feel. Whether it’s Gen Z, Gen X, Gen Y, or Gen whatever—it doesn’t matter. I think the basic human quality should be to be respectful to each other. No matter who it is, even if someone is younger than us, we should still speak to them respectfully. And if you want respect, then it’s important to give respect. If you don’t give respect, how can you expect to receive it? Right? So if I insult somebody, obviously, I’m going to get a strong insult back too.”

He added, “This needs to be understood by the younger generation—that the most basic human moral quality is to be respectful to each other. Not just to humans, but also to animals. So it’s a simple psychology that everyone should understand: you get what you give. It’s a very basic thing. People should start understanding this, but they seem to be drifting far away from it. Everything has become about ‘I’m so cool,’ and about flashy hairstyles, and this constant obsession with being cool. Everything is about just that, ‘so cool.’ But you know what? That’s not cool at all. I think it’s very uncool. It’s not even funny.”

Sudhanshu On People Justifying Their Rude Behaviour

Adding further on justifying rude and abusive behaviour, the actor said, “There are some idiots who are justifying that behaviour. You know, I’ve ignored everything, I mean, I ignore everything that comes up on my social media. But there are messages I’ve been receiving where people are justifying this. And when I read those justifications, I feel like—man, certain people simply cannot be reasoned with. You can’t even explain it to them. I think they’ve gone too far in thinking that Gen Z is somehow licensed to speak a certain way or behave a certain way. I think I would just be wasting my time trying to make them understand. I’d rather explain things to someone willing to understand—people who are open to learning, who are open to absorbing any kind of information that could be beneficial to them. Right?”
