EXCLUSIVE: ‘Tony’ Akshay Oberoi REACTS To Toxic Full Movie Being Leaked Within 48 Hours Of Release; Says, “It’s Really Meant To Be Consumed In Theatres”

One of the most anticipated films of recent times, Yash-led Toxic – A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups released on Wednesday, August 26 and minted over Rs 100 crore on Day 1 itself. Given the mixed reviews the film has received since, the film’s box office has witness a decline. But is the negative reviews the only reason for fans not heading to theatres to watch and re-watch the film? NO. One of the main reasons for the decline is that the full film has been leaked online.

During an exclusive telephonic conversation with Akshay Oberoi – who essays the role of Tony in the film, Bollywood Bubble asked the actor about the leak. Read on to know what he had to say about it.

Akshay Oberoi On Toxic Full Movie Being Leaked

When asked what when through his mind when the full Toxic movie was leaked on pirated sites within 48 hours of its release, Akshay Oberoi opted to look at the brighter side. He told us, “Well, you know, (some) films have been leaked even before they hit the screens. I didn’t know that our film has been leaked, I wasn’t aware of that. But at least it only leaked post coming out in the cinema.”

He continued, “I mean like there have been stories that are just so terrifying that, you know, like data, a disk, a hard disk leaked from some studio and now the thing is out even before it hits the cinema. Oh God, I mean, I feel bad. I feel immensely bad for the producer, the actors and so many people who put so much hard work. Thank God, that didn’t happen with us.”

Akshay added, “That’s also why everyone is so fiercely protective. Like we didn’t talk about the film or the story at all. If you notice, no one gave any interviews…” He signed off by saying, “People should just watch it in the cinemas. It’s really meant to be consumed that way.”
