During a candid conversation about Mastii 4, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh reflected on how humour transcends generations, even if viewing preferences differ. Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Vivek joked that today’s Gen-Z would never watch such a film with their daadi. Yet, both actors agreed that the movie is best enjoyed with friends—those who won’t judge you for laughing freely. Riteish explained how some jokes feel more personal, the kind you enjoy privately or with close buddies. According to them, Mastii 4 is the funniest instalment yet.
Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh Joke Gen-Z Cannot Watch Mastii 4 With Their Grandparents
Sharing an incident of watching the previous films of the franchise with their grandmother, when asked what Gen-Z can take away from watching Mastii 4, Vivek Oberoi answered, “Bhai, abhi ki generation bhi apni daadi ke saath yeh picture nahin dekhegi. But still, kya-kya cheezein dekhni hain.”
Riteish Deshmukh answered, “Humein umeed hai ki daada-daadi separately apne crowd ke saath.” Vivek interrupted and said, “Daada apne doston ke saath, daadi apne doston ke saath, I think they should watch it.”
Riteish continued, “And hota kya hai na, humour ek aisi cheez hai jo kabhi-kabhi bahut personal bhi hoti hai. Kuch jokes hote hain jo aap akele mein dekhkar haste ho; aapko judgement se darr lagta hai. Kabhi-kabhi, jaise main pehle keh raha tha, hum apne mobile phone pe kaafi saara aisa content dekhte aur consume karte hain aur dil khol ke haste hain, aur kuch chuninda doston ke saath share karte hain, ‘Yeh dekh!’, but usually hum publically shayad na hasein. Toh jab aapke jigri dost ho na, unke saath jaana chahiye; you will have a blast in this film. Kyunki mujhe lagta hai ki Mastii 1, 2 aur 3 se zyada funny Mastii 4 hai. I agree, mujhe bhi aise hi lagta hai.”
