Prithviraj Sukumaran is one of the popular and finest Mollywood actors and has given several amazing movies. The actor, who hails from a family of actors, has time and again proved his acting prowess. He is best known for movies like Vargam, Classmates, and Vaasthavam and more. Sukumaran is not only versatile when it comes to acting, but also in his life. He is not just an actor, but also a director, producer and playback singer. He has worked in more than 100 movies and is a three-time winner of the Kerala State Film Awards recipient. He also once won a National Film Award.

Prithviraj Sukumaran was born in Trivandrum, Kerala on October 16, 1986. He was born to Malayalam actor Sukumaran and veteran actress Mallika Sukumaran. His brother, Indrajith Sukumaran, and sister-in-law, Poornima Indrajith are also popular Malayalam actors. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in IT from the University of Tasmania, Australia.

Prithviraj made his debut in the Tamil film industry in the year 2005 film with Kana Kandaen as the main antagonist. Since then, he has acted in nine Tamil movies including Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In the year 2010, he even made his Telugu debut with the Manmohan-directorial Police Police.

In 2006, Prithviraj broke the record held by Mohanlal for 20 years, when he received the Kerala State Award for the Best Actor for his role as Balachandran Adiga in Vaasthavam. He became the youngest recipient of the award.

Prithviraj kickstarted his singing career in his 2009 film Puthiya Mugham. Post that he sang several songs and almost all were a rage among the masses.


On 25 April 2011, Prithviraj married Supriya Menon, a BBC India reporter. They have a daughter, Alankrita, who was born in 2014.

In 2011, Prithviraj turned joint producer along with cinematographer-turned-director Santhosh Sivan, Tamil actor Arya and actor Shaji Nadeshan under the banner August Cinemas.


Aside from Aiyyaa, he also featured in Yash Raj films Aurangzeb alongside Arjun Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. He also featured in Naam Shabana, in which he played the antagonist.

He made his directorial debut in 2019 with the action film Lucifer starring Mohanlal. It was the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. The second part of the trilogy called L2:Empuraan is under production.
