Has Alia Bhatt landed Meghna Gulzar’s next movie?

If there’s one young actress who is proving to be a tough competitor for the senior actresses, it has to be Alia Bhatt without a doubt. The actress has been on the roll, with all her three movies, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘Udta Punjab’ and ‘Dear Zindagi’ hitting the bull’s eye.

Now, rumour mills suggest that Alia has landed another project which will be helmed by Meghna Gulzar. The untitled movie will be a woman-oriented flick and will be based in the early backdrop of the 70s era.

In the movie, Alia will be seen in the role of a spy who will be juggling multiple responsibilities, that of a daughter, a wife and a spy working towards the interest of the nation. The movie is said to be based on a novel called as ‘Calling Sehmat’ written by Harinder S. Sikka. The actress will be playing the role of a Kashmiri girl who gets married to an army man. There have been no detail as of now on the male protagonist. The lyrics will be penned by Meghna’s father Gulzar and the movie will be produced by Junglee Pictures.
