Apart from their films, megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan are also known for their philanthropy. The pandemic has affected the entire country to an unimaginable extent, making people run from pillar to post, many of them succumbing to oxygen deprivation. Chiranjeevi has come forward to start an Oxygen Bank to curb the oxygen crisis across Telangana and Andhra. The Oxygen Banks will be monitored by his son Ram Charan and are said to be handled by the Fans Association President of the respective districts.

Back in 1998, Chiranjeevi had launched Chiranjeevi Blood Bank which helped saved millions of people across the Telugu states and the entire country. The actor is once again using his star status to help the common man in whatever capacity he can.

Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust debuted on Twitter today to announce the same. Their tweet says that the bank is going to be operational in a week’s time. “Chiranjeevi garu to launch Oxygen Banks to help curb #Covid19 oxygen deprivation. Ram Charan will oversee the operations of these Oxygen Banks which will be operational in a week’s time across the Telugu states. @kchirutweets @alwaysramcharan @Chiranjeevi_CT #ChiruforCovidhelp(sic),”reads the tweet.

Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan have been actively helping a lot of Covid patients both emotionally and financially. And looking at how lives are being lost due to lack of oxygen and oxygen concentrators amidst the Covid surge, the actors’ initiative will definitely help a lot of people.
