Nenjam Marappathillai is bankrolled by Escape Artists Motion Pictures (EAMP). Now according to a report in The News Minute, on March 2 the Madras High Court had ordered a stay on the film’s release after Radiance Media Pvt Ltd filed a plea against Escape artists Motion Pictures.

As per the petition, EAMP had taken Rs 2.42 crores from Radiance Media Pvt Ltd in order to produce another film in 2019. Radiance Media claimed that EAMP still owes them 1.25 crores with interest. They had requested the HC to order stay on the release of EAMP’s production Nenjam Marappathillai until their payment is cleared. Following the assurance by EAMP that the money will be paid by July 2021, the HC cancelled the stay on their latest release.

Welcoming the court’s decision, Suryah took to his Twitter handle and wrote, #NenjamMarapathillai All cleared..
