Shilpa Shetty to play Mahesh Babu’s aunt in Trivikram Srinivas’ next?

South superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to team up with filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas’ next which is tentatively titled SSMB 28. This will mark Mahesh and Trivikram’s third collaboration after Athadu and Khaleja. The film will be bankrolled by S Radha Krishna under his home banner Haarika and Haasine Creations. The latest buzz suggests that Shilpa Shetty is going to play a crucial role in this Mahesh Babu starrer.

The makers of the film are yet to make any official announcement about Shilpa joining the cast. However, some reports suggest that apparently, she will be playing Mahesh’s aunt in the film. Read on to know the details.

Mahesh and Trivikram are teaming up after 11 long years. So obviously their fan’s excitement about their next has hit the roof. And the buzz that Shilpa Shetty is also a part of this project has proved to be icing on the cake.

According to a report in Hans India, Shilpa will reportedly play Mahesh Babu’s aunt in Trivikram’s SSMB 28. For the unversed, Shilpa had made her Telugu cinema debut with Venkatesh starrer Sahasa Veerudu Sagara Kanya that released in 1996. And if the latest buzz is anything to go by then she will be returning to Telugu films once again with Trivikram’s directorial.

Director Trivikram’s films always feature strong female characters and reportedly Shilpa will be playing a vital role in the Mahesh Babu starrer. Mahesh and Trivikram’s next is scheduled to hit the theatres in the summer of 2022. Two weeks back, announcing the film, Haarika and Haasine Creations had tweeted, “The combo that everyone is waiting for is finally here! While everyone is eager to know details of Shilpa’s role in Mahesh starrer. However, with no confirmation from the makers or the actress yet, all we can do is wait and watch.
