Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, dressed in a blue shirt and sunglasses arrived at the Mumbai Court. The Khan was on court regarding the Hit&Run Case as the court had specifically asked the actor to be present for the March 7 hearing. He was attending the trial here in the Mumbai court, where two investigating officers will submit their statements in trial of his 2002 Hit&Run Case.

The Session court has allowed the prosecution to rely on the statement of Ravindra Patil, an eye-witness who was actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard and who died on October 3, 2007. In his statement, Mr Patil had said that he was sitting beside Mr Khan and had warned him not to drive rashly. Mr Patil, who lodged the complaint after the hit-and-run, had also said that the actor was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The ongoing argument between Salman Khan’s lawyers who are persisting that Khan was not driving the car and the prosecution trying to prove that Salman was in the diving seat is on the culmination and the prosecution alleges that he was.

In the last session, a hotel parking attendant told the court that he had seen Mr Khan sit in the driver’s seat but had not seen him drive off and another witness had testified that the actor had exited the car from the right side.

Mr Khan is being tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If convicted, he could spend upto 10 years in prison.
