Abhijeet singer

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya had a close encounter with the cyber police in the month of July. The singer known for his aggressive tweets had used abusive language on Twitter against a journalist Swati Chaturvedi. Taking offense at his abusive words, AAP leader Preeti Sharma Menon had lodged a complaint against him. Soon the singer was arrested by the BKC Cyber police but later released on bail.

DCP (Cyber Crime) Sachin Patil said, “Abhijeet was arrested in July on the basis of the FIR against him for online abuse. The case was registered under IPC section 500 (punishment for defamation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act. However, since it was a bailable offense, he was given bail soon after the arrest.”

Menon revealed that she had tweeted to the Mumbai Police commissioner about the singer using abusive words against women on the social network to which the singer had responded by abusing her too on the social network. On her action against him, the cyber police soon took him under custody and even confiscated his phone.

Later an irate Abhijeet ranted that he is paying the price of being a nationalist in Bollywood. He vented his ire with these words “I’m a man,a son,a dad,a bro trolled n abused by lady presstitute & her Paki frnds abused my nation whom to contact?”

Looks like the man has as yet not learned his lesson.
