Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu, who will soon be seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Pink’, has apparently been approached for a film on Irom Sharmila. According to the reports, a film is being made on Irom Sharmila, the woman who pulled off the biggest hunger strike in the history of world, in order to bring peace to her state. Her fasting lasted for 16 long years and then she broke her hunger strike in the year 2016. The makers of this film have approached Taapsee Pannu to step into the shoes of Irom Sharmila and take her struggle forward.

This film would has been tentatively titled as ‘Imphal.’ Irom Sharmila hails from a small village in Imphal Valley, Manipur. ‘Imphal’ is being produced by Hansal Mehta while the director is yet to be finalised. Though there’s no confirmation on this yet, one hears that Hansal Mehta is ready with the script of this as well. He has been closely following the struggle of Irom Sharmila and has planned everything.

As of now, Hansal Mehta is busy with his film with Kangana Ranaut, titled ‘Simran’. Taapsee is busy promoting her ‘Pink’.
