In one such conversation, Suraj had candidly admitted that he initially had reservations about dating an actor after witnessing the intense attention Mouni received from fans and paparazzi. He had also revealed that he wasn’t keen on marriage for a long time and kept postponing it until Mouni eventually gave him an ultimatum — either commit to marriage or walk away from the relationship.

Speaking to ETimes earlier, Suraj opened up about adjusting to life with a celebrity partner and dealing with public attention. He shared, “In the early phase of our relationship, Mouni and I met in Dubai and places abroad. So, it wasn’t like she was constantly surrounded by fans and paps.”

He further explained, “It was only during my initial visits to Mumbai that I saw fans asking for her selfies and paps waiting to click her… That’s when it really hit me. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I wanted everything that came with it (dating an actor). I realised that being married to Mouni would mean that I would have to live in the public eye. It’s part of the deal, and with time, I am getting used to it.”

Suraj Nambiar Reflects On Changed Perspective On Marriage

Suraj had also reflected on how his perspective on marriage changed over time. He stated, “For a long time, I was against the idea of getting married. However, having experienced it for a year, I must say it is quite peaceful, and I would recommend it. Mouni was quite clear that she wanted to get married very early on.”

Recalling the turning point in their relationship, he added, “After a couple of years of dating, she clearly said it was either this way (getting married) or the highway. I just kept buying time. Then one day, she gave me an ultimatum, and I realised that if I didn’t marry her, I would lose her. That’s when I realised we should get married, as I knew that my life would be better with her.”

Meanwhile, rumours surrounding trouble in their marriage have left fans concerned. Reports recently suggested that Mouni and Suraj have been living separately for nearly six months. Amid the growing chatter, Mouni Roy shared a note on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, urging people not to circulate false narratives and requesting privacy. While she did not directly address the divorce rumours, she appealed to everyone to respect their personal space. Suraj, on the other hand, has deactivated his Instagram account and has not made any public statement yet.
