Arjun Bijlani SLAMS Baseless Rumours Of Dating Mouni Roy

Arjun Bijlani has responded strongly to recent dating rumours linking him to his longtime friend Mouni Roy after a video showed the two leaving dinner together, sparking widespread online speculation. The actor attributed the false gossip to a suggestive caption by a paparazzi page, emphasising that a 15-year friendship should not be mistaken for a romantic relationship based on casual interactions. In his statement, Arjun said, “Dear Clickbait pages, Two people who’ve shared a friendship for 15+ years don’t suddenly become a couple because a gossip page needs a headline. Sometimes, people simply show up for each other, especially when a friend is going through a difficult time. Not every friendship needs a romantic angle for views. A little fact-checking before publishing would go a long way. Let’s be responsible with the narratives we create.”

He further appealed to media outlets, urging them to verify facts before spreading misleading stories that invade personal privacy and cause confusion. “We request media pages to verify facts before spreading misleading stories that unnecessarily invade people’s personal lives and create confusion. Responsible journalism builds credibility. Clickbait doesn’t,” he added.

Actor Krystle D’Souza also expressed her displeasure. The actress said, “What is this nonsense. Just for views you guys will post anything.”

About Arjun-Mouni

Arjun and Mouni have known each other for over 15 years and have maintained that their relationship is purely platonic. They gained popularity as on-screen partners in the 2015 TV show ‘Naagin,’ where they played Ritik and Shivanya. Their on-screen chemistry earned them a large fan following, but both have consistently clarified that their off-screen relationship remains that of close friends. They have supported each other publicly over the years, frequently sharing moments on social media and attending events together.

In 2024, Mouni revisited their ‘Naagin’ days by sharing a throwback photo from the set. She also mentioned that their on-set bickering was due to long hours and a demanding schedule, not personal differences.

What Were These Dating Rumours?

The dating rumours emerged shortly after Mouni confirmed her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar. On May 14, 2024, she announced their decision to part ways, requesting privacy as they managed the separation. Both Mouni and Suraj dismissed rumours about any issues in their marriage. The couple had married in Goa on January 27, 2022, in an intimate ceremony with both Malayali and Bengali rituals attended by close family and friends.
