Aishwarya Rai and Bobby Deol in ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’

Just a few days earlier, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made us Indians proud as she became the first female actor ever to hoist the Indian National Flag at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 (IFFM). She was accompanied there by her cute little daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, turning this event even more memorable. In fact, if we trace her journey which started from the day she was crowned Miss India (World), and subsequently Miss World, the list of memorable events in her life is indeed a long one. And today is one such special date in her life. It was on August 15, when the gorgeous lady made her Bollywood debut, with the movie ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’.

Many of her fans and admirers would be aware of this fact that after winning the Miss World title, she had started receiving offers to act in films. Though the actress made her big screen acting debut with filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ which was released in the same year 1997, it was ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’ which was her first Hindi film and second release in her acting career, the one that introduced her to the tinsel town. (Also Check: PICS: Aishwarya Rai and Aaradhya hoist the Indian National Flag in Melbourne)

Talking about the film, it starred her opposite Bobby Deol and was directed by Rahul Rawail. The film managed to do average business at box office, but is still remembered for introducing the actress in Bollywood and for its melodious songs like ‘Meri Saanson Mein’, ‘Koi Jaane Koi Na Jaane’ and ‘Zindagi Jhoom Kar’, out of which the last two were sung by late legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. After this film, it was almost after two years that we got to see Aishwarya on the big screens again, this time in Rishi Kapoor’s directorial debut ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ (1999) which too did not perform well at the box office.

But did this end Aishwarya’s dreams on the celluloid? No.

Following this, it was the release of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ (1999) that proved to be a turning point in her career. And since then there was no looking back for this gorgeous powerhouse performer.

The lyrics of one of the songs of this movie goes on to say this.

‘Meri Saanson Mein Basa Hai, Tera Hi Ek Naam…’

Indeed, the breathtaking beauty is forever in our hearts and forever she will be. And hence, this day will always be one which introduced Aishwarya Rai, the actress to us.
