Actress Anushka Sharma has urged everyone to celebrate the forthcoming festival of Diwali without noise and firecrackers for the sake of animals. The “Dil Dhadakne Do” star has launched a campaign “Pawsitive” through Facebook and Twitter to encourage people to reduce the use of crackers, especially in residential areas.

“Animals are our best friends. They make me laugh and I share a personal bond with them. Their welfare is one cause that’s close to my heart and I will keep taking up initiatives that make us care for them too. When someone bursts firecrackers during Diwali, they don’t think of how it affects animals or birds,” Anushka said in a statement.

“With ‘Pawsitive’, I hope I can inspire some of us to care about them, and avoid making a lot of noise,” she added.
