Rajshri Entertainment, one of the most iconic studios in Indian cinema, faced an unforgettable loss on Friday when Rajjat Barjatya, the MD and CEO of Rajshri Media passed away. Cousin of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, Rajjat was battling cancer for the last three months and was about to undergo a bone-marrow match. After the family performed Rajjat’s last rites at a crematorium in Worli on Saturday, it was followed by a prayer meet on Sunday afternoon at Rangsharda Auditorium. Many Bollywood celebs like Sonam Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Subhash Ghai with his family, filmmaker Kunal Kohli arrived here to pray for Rajjat’s soul which may rest in peace.

This meet even showed the deep attachment Salman Khan shares with Barjatya family when he just broke down in tears as he hugged Sooraj Barjatya equally grieving over this loss. Salman’s first solo lead project ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was made under the Rajshri banner and even today after 27 years, his association with the family, professionally and personally is strongly connected.
