Superstar Akshay Kumar says money is more important than medals while honouring the winners of competitions like Olympics. The Khiladi who is riding high on the success of his latest release ‘Rustom‘ says just medals is not enough, providing them financial rewards also important, and even more so. He feels that world sporting platforms like Olympics should include prize money along with medals and certificates to honour the winners as being practical in life is very important.

The ‘Airlift’ actor feels we have to take a practical stand as, ” Our Government has this rule to honour the sportsperson who wins gold, silver or bronze in the Olympics. Winning a certificate or a medal is a very big achievement, but don’t you think receiving money is more practical? because I see that several people who participate, a lot of them are from poor families. have seen several times that some people want to sell their medals and earn money, and several such stories you all have heard. So it is better that when you honour someone, do it not just with a medal but also with money. it is important because you have to be practical in life.”
