Anupama Parameswaran Files Police Complaint Against A 20-Year-Old Girl After Morphed Photos Go Viral- Deets Inside

South actress Anupama Parameswaran, known for her work in Telugu and Malayalam films, recently took a strong stand against online harassment. The Bison star filed a police complaint after discovering an Instagram account spreading false and inappropriate content about her and her family. The posts included morphed photos and baseless allegations that caused her deep distress.

Anupama Parameswaran Takes Legal Action After Morphed Pics

In a statement, Anupama shared that the account was not only targeting her but also tagging her friends and co-stars in hateful posts. “A few days ago, it came to my notice that an Instagram profile was circulating extremely inappropriate and false content about me, my family, and even tagging my friends and co-actors. The posts included morphed pictures and baseless allegations. It was deeply distressing to witness such targeted harassment online,” she said.

The actress further revealed that the same person had created several fake accounts only to spread hate and negativity. After filing a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Kerala, the culprit was identified as a 20-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu.

“To my surprise, it turned out to be a young girl. Considering her age, I decided not to reveal her identity as I don’t want to harm her future or peace of mind,” Anupama explained. However, she emphasised that her decision to forgive does not mean online abuse should be tolerated. “Having a smartphone or social media access doesn’t give anyone the right to harass or defame others. Every action online leaves a trace, and accountability will follow,” she added.

Anupama has proceeded with legal action and ended her statement with a powerful reminder: “Being an actor or a public figure doesn’t take away our basic rights. Cyberbullying is a punishable offence — and accountability is real.”
