Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Udta Punjab‘ has been grounded by the Censor Board. The reason for their decision being the swear words used by the lead actors in the film. We think the concept of the movie that was quite evident since the posters and the trailer were launched by the makers, has been missed by the board.

The movie depicts the condition of present day Punjab, where the youth have been submerged under the deluge of drugs. The trailer showcased the dark side of Punjab where substance abuse is very prevalent. Therefore, the usage of abuses is necessary to shock people to convey the message that how substance abuse can be detrimental to the society.

No sooner did the news that ‘Udta Punjab’ has been grounded by the Censor Board made headlines, than Twitterati went up in arms against them. Soon #SHAME ON CENSOR BOARD started trending with many venting their anger at the board.
