The makers officially announced the film’s title and release date, sharing a glimpse of what’s to come. Vijay Deverakonda shared a powerful message along with the teaser, saying, “The British called him a ‘SAVAGE.’ I do not disagree. He was ‘OUR’ savage! Introducing the one and only ‘RANA BAALI’ and setting the record straight on our history which they tried to bury.”

About Rana Baali

Set in the 19th century, Rana Baali is based on historical events between 1854 and 1878 and is being produced as a grand pan-India project. The teaser vividly portrays the brutality of British rule in India through intense visuals and gripping narration, highlighting the suffering inflicted by colonial policies, particularly in regions affected by drought under officials like Sir Richard Temple and Sir Theodore Hector.

The visuals draw stark parallels to a genocide even worse than Hitler’s Holocaust, exposing the economic exploitation faced by India. Vijay Deverakonda appears in a fierce, commanding role as Rana Baali. He sports a striking new look, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma. Arnold Vosloo features as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector, adding further depth to the story.

Vijay-Rashmika’s Reunion

Rana Baali marks the third collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. This is after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, reigniting their beloved on-screen chemistry. The film also signifies Vijay’s third project with the renowned Mythri Movie Makers, led by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, known globally for the Pushpa franchise. Additionally, it reunites Vijay with director Rahul Sankrityan after their successful partnership on Taxiwaala.

Presented by T-Series, the film’s soundtrack is composed by the legendary duo Ajay–Atul. It promises to add scale and grandeur to this historic epic.
