Suriya CONFIRMS His Next Film With Lucky Bhaskar Director Venky Atluri; Actor Reveals Shooting Date

Suriya has officially confirmed his next movie with Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri and producer Naga Vamsi. The actor was recently spotted in Hyderabad for the promotions of Retro, where he revealed details about his upcoming project. Tentatively titled Suriya 46, the film will be directed by Venky Atluri, known for his work on Lucky Baskhar, with Naga Vamsi funding the venture.

In a brief clip shared by the filmmakers, Suriya stated, “I have to announce this today. I had to start with Allu Arvind garu with his blessings, I am associating with Sithara Entertainments, and my brother Venky.” He further added, “This will be my next film. As you’ve all been asking for a long time, my next Tamil film is with Venky, and I will be spending a lot of time in beautiful Hyderabad. We will start the shoot from May onwards.”

Earlier reports hinted at Suriya collaborating with Venky Atluri, which has now been confirmed. The director’s previous work, Lucky Baskhar, featured Dulquer Salmaan in a compelling story about a bank cashier trying to improve his mediocre life. The plot thickens as the protagonist delves into the world of scams, cleverly outsmarting others to rise socially and financially. Lucky Baskhar was both a critical and commercial success, boasting an ensemble cast that included Meenakshi Chaudhary, Tinnu Anand, P. Sai Kumar, Ramki, Raghu Babu, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, and more in significant roles.

As for Suriya’s upcoming release, he is set to lead the film Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. This romantic action film tells the story of Paarivel Kannan, also known as Paari, a young man hailing from a violent family background. The narrative centres on Paari’s journey as he falls in love with Rukmini and attempts to abandon his violent past. However, his history continually resurfaces, presenting challenges that threaten his relationship. Alongside Suriya, the film features actors such as Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, and others in key roles.
