Actor Akshay Kumar is busy promoting his upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan on various platforms. Now, he has graced the singing reality show, Superstar Singer to promote his movie. We recently came across a video on social media where we see Akshay in tears after receiving an emotional message from his sister Alka Bhatia. Akshay got emotional hearing Alka’s message about how he always stood beside her.

Addressing him as ‘Raju’, she says in Punjabi, “I just remembered while chatting with someone that the festival of Rakhi is on August 11. You stood beside me at all times, good and bad. From being a father, and friend to a brother, you played all roles for me. Thank you for everything.”

As Akshay tries to control his tears, he said, “We used to live in a small house. After the arrival of this goddess, our lives changed. There is no bigger relationship than that with a sister.” We also see the contestants singing songs on Raksha Bandhan for the special episode.

Meanwhile, talking about the film, director Aanand L Rai said, “I enjoyed making this film. We have made this film with a lot of heart” and added, “I am lucky to have got Akshay Sir. But honestly, I didn’t get Akshay sir, I got Raju, who is a very khubsurat bacha (beautiful child). He has done so many films and yet, he treated me like an elder brother.”

Directed by Aanand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan has been written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb and Smrithi Srikanth play the role of Akshay’s four sisters in the film. Bhumi Pednekar plays the role of Akshay’s love interest.
