Shehzad Deol: I’ve been a huge Salman Khan fan but I’m sad that due to the pandemic we aren’t going to get multiple chances to meet him

Handsome hunk Shehzad Deol has made a grand entry in the ‘Bigg Boss 14’ house. He can make girls go weak in their knees with his swag and charm. Before entering the ‘Bigg Boss 14’ house, we spoke to Shehzad to know his feelings about the show, his strategies, etc.

What was your growing up years like?

I was a pampered child, the only child in the family. My parents never really said no to any wish, any demand I had. But yes over the years we have seen a lot of ups and downs, which made me realize that life is not always the same.

How did you get into modelling? Did you initially have some inhibitions with regards to this profession?

I have never been a model. Yes, I did India’s Top Model but that’s about.

You were a part ‘Ace of Space’ with MTV. What was your biggest takeaway from that show?

People are very different in front of the camera than they are otherwise so being careful when you trust someone on national television.

How much do you think the experience of ‘Ace Of space’ will come in handy inside the Bigg Boss house?

Well of course having already been locked up away from the outside world and having done two reality shows does give me an experience which the others don’t have. However, I feel all contestants are coming in with their set of strengths and weaknesses.

You have said that you are very close to your mom. What was her response when you shared your ambition with her?

I have been blessed that both my mom and dad have been very supportive. They have always let me make my decisions and follow my dreams. This puts a larger responsibility on me to never make them regret that they gave me so much freedom to follow all that my heart wished to.

What are you expecting from this season of ‘Bigg Boss’ as a contestant?

A good hit season that garners millions and billions of eyeballs so that I can win hearts and shine out.

Do you think Bigg Boss will help you in your career prospect in a big way?

Yes, of course, Bigg Boss is like a pedestal for me. It’s the largest Indian reality show, giving us space on-screen every day and hopefully for 3 months to showcase the person I am, entertain my audience and win hearts.

What will be your strategy inside ‘Bigg Boss 14’ house?

I am planning on being myself and I am hoping that truly helps in winning my audience. I am someone who will put my opinion across but I’m not going into the house to pick fights, my agenda is to entertain, to win hearts and eventually connect with viewers and bring the trophy home!

Whom do you consider your toughest contestant inside the house?

Whoever has the ability to compete with me for the trophy.

Are you excited to meet Salman Khan and be hosted by him on the show?

Oh yes, I have been a huge Salman fan and so I am excited. It’s sad that due to the pandemic we aren’t’ going to get multiple chances to meet him.

This season BB has theatres and spa and malls inside the house which people have been missing during Covid-19. What is that one thing which you’re looking forward to doing the most inside BB house this time?

The Spa, the movie theatre, all sounds exciting and I can’t wait to experience it all in BB style.

Do you think you’ll be able to share your privacy with the whole world watching you 24 hours in ‘BB14’?

That’s the challenge that Bigg Boss brings with it, so why not!

Is there anything that you won’t do inside the ‘BB 14’ house, as you think your family and close ones will be watching?

Nothing that embarrasses my family as I want them to be proud of who I am and for all the freedom they have given me to over these years.

What if love blossoms inside the house, and you start getting attracted to someone? Will you be opening up the person and express your feelings in front of the whole world?

I am a romantic. Whether I do or I don’t that time will tell.

From the previous BB winners, who has been your favourite?

Aah, that’s difficult to choose but honestly, I love the way Shehnaaz entertained, Hina carried herself and Sidharth completely took over the screen. However, Shehnaaz takes the cake because she’s from Punjab and truly she was very spontaneous and entertaining.

Which all seasons of BB have you watched keenly?

I have seen the previous seasons, though not all I have followed Gauahar, Gautam, Vikas, Shilpa, Hina, and the last season mostly throughout.

Do you think creating controversies is a key to getting votes in BB?

No, I think gaining love….people don’t make efforts towards someone they aren’t liking, so the key is to get the audience to love you and make the effort to vote for you.

Are you someone who would want to be in the news always or someone who would relax and enjoy a quiet time inside the BB house?

Of course, I am inside to create a bang….silent sleepers will never go far in this game!

What if any ex of yours is made to enter the house later on, will you be comfortable with it?

Let’s not get into hypothetical theories, that just may just scare me!

As of now, it’s just BB, BB, BB!
