EXCLUSIVE: This is how Gauahar Khan reacted when Zaid Darbar lied to her about his age

Last year, actress Gauahar Khan and actor-dancer Zaid Darbar gave everyone a pleasant surprise when they announced that they are tying the knot. Owing to the pandemic, the couple opted for an intimate wedding. And now they have finally opened up about their filmy love story. Apart from their romance, the couple also grabbed headlines for the age gap between them. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Gauahar spilled the beans on her reaction when she came to know about Zaid’s age.

Gauahar and Zaid’s love story is straight out of a romantic movie. Everything, right from the way they met to the way they ended up tying the knot within months of dating each other has helped us restore our faith in love and soulmates.

When we asked the lovebirds about how they came together, the couple revealed that they first met at a store, well it was more like Zaid spotting Gauahar and trying to grab her attention. Three days later Zaid messaged Gauahar Khan on Instagram. Revealing about his message, the actress said, “When I saw his name Zaid Darbar, I was like ‘oh I know this name’. He said, ‘I have something very important to tell you.’ And that was such a vague message to start off a conversation with. No Hi, nothing. Then I was like, shit now kya? What is this secret he knows about me or what is happening? It was like ‘I know what you did last summer'(laughs).”

She further revealed, “I opened his message the next day and replied, ‘Hi. Ya??’. And he said, ‘You are very beautiful and it was important to tell you’. And I like ‘wohoooooo’. What just happened here. Then I told him something like you are very smooth or something like that. I knew him as he was with Shiamak Davar or instructor or something. I don’t know I have a vague idea and then he directly said, ‘Hey you know what don’t get married. That was his third line. I was like ‘Ha ha ha anyway yahan pe kuch chal nahi raha zindagi mein now you are praying that I don’t get married?. Then I told him something like ‘You have a good sense of humour’. And I was like this is very childish. Then I asked him ‘How old are you?’. And he lied to me about his age. He told me he was four years younger than his actual age.” 

At which Zaid chipped in and said, “I lied because I dint know what was her age.” Gauhar continued, “Yeah he didn’t know that I was whatever in my 30 plus or whatever and he lied to me about real his age. So I was like ‘No chance. Wrong move. Keep walking Zaid Darbar. In my mind, I was thinking ‘oh my god he is such a child whatever because he said he is much younger than what he actually is. And his fifth line again was, ‘But listen don’t get married’. And I was like, ‘Dude he is up to something.’
