Recently, the duo released their first music video together titled Tere Vich Rab Disda and they got into an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble where they opened up about their separation.

When Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat announced the news of their breakup, they were met with some overwhelming response by the ShaRa shippers. Talking about that and why they decided to make it official, Shamita said, I think our reason for announcing it was because the thing is that the whole ShaRa family, that kind of just happened, supported us so much and gave us so much love. And the kind of messages that still kept coming in were very pro the relationship and I didn’t want to break their hearts. I thought it was better for them to kind of know the truth rather than lie to them and I think that was one of the reasons why we both decided that it was kind of time to let them know. At the end of the day, we are friends. I personally think, in any case, this whole ShaRa thing sort of put a certain amount of pressure also on us and we didn’t want to kind of focus on that anymore and focus more on our friendship. I think that’s where kind of things changed. We wanted to just set things right.”

Raqesh chimed in the conversation by talking about the unusual circumstances that the couple met in and how starting their relationship in the Bigg Boss house, paved they way for the future of their union. He said, We met in a very unusual circumstance. We never planned this. We were put in a house where I never preempted that it’s going to be like a couple thing. Had it been that, I would have said no to it right from the word go because I wanted to play individually. I wanted to be a person because I’ve always refrained from participating in Bigg Boss. Every year, they’ve been calling but I am little scared of going into that house, I’m being honest. I’m not a person who’s like a public public person. For me, as I always said, more than two is crowd. I’m a private person and I like to keep it that way and yes I did participate because I wanted to.”

He went on to share that even his mother has pointed the issue of him being too into himself out to him. He shared, “Even my mother said that you should interact with people and that is a problem with you, so just face your demons. I went there to face my demons but if I knew this was a couple thing, then I would have said no but then eventually when I went I said, oh holy what are we doing now. So when push comes to shove, you have to do it. It never was a plan and as it is unplanned when unplanned things always have, you have to make it work. You have to be the person who’s holding the reigns, so we tried but somewhere when it wasn’t working, obviously we had to tell people. Also, I thought that let’s not do it because I’m a private person and it’s not something that we need to be vocal about because it happened in a circumstance which was that way. If we were in Bigg Boss house, still people would have got to know any which way but we are not in Bigg Boss, life is not Bigg Boss for us so I mean everything accordingly followed and that’s what happened.”

The duo insisted that they are still friends and that is something that won’t change. Shamita asserted, I think both of us initially also had always made this very clear that, like he said, we had met in very unusual circumstances and we wanted to explore it out of the house as friends. But like I said, the whole ShaRa thing kinda took over you know and both of us are private people. We didn’t find it necessary to come out and keep explaining ourselves. Frankly speaking, even if I knew it was a connection show, I don’t think even I would have gone in. I’m also a very private person but then my life was just out there for six months.”

The way Shamita and Raqesh have gone ahead and promoted their song together, even after getting separated, just show the maturity level of both of them as artists. Together or individually, the two actors have always received love from their fans and that is something that will never change.
