Choti Sarrdaarni’s lead actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has taken a break from the show. There were reports floating that she had quit the show and Kratika Sengar has replaced her. A source told Times of India that Nimrit has taken a break due to some health issues but she is still part of the show and the makers will try to accommodate her via phone calls. “We needed a popular face for an upcoming track and that’s how Kratika came into the picture. We don’t know how long the cameo would last. We will plan the future track once Nimrit recovers and resumes shooting,” said the source.

Kratika is back to television almost after a long hiatus of three years. She confirmed to the publication that she is not replacing Nimrit, but playing a new character. She also said that she wouldn’t have taken up the offer if the makers had approached her to replace the original actress. “She(Nimrit) has played the character so beautifully that I wouldn’t want to step into her shoes,” said Kratika.

Kratika was last seen in the TV show, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki. Talking about her break, she said she wanted to take a break after the show wrapped up and couldn’t take up anything in 2019 due to a personal crisis and she needed to be with her family and by the time everything was fine, there was the lockdown.

Kratika got married to actor Nikitin Dheer in 2014. There were rumours of her pregnancy. When asked if she is thinking about motherhood she said that she is mentally not ready for it yet.
