Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya actor Anupam Shyam no more; passes away due to multiple organ failure

The health condition of veteran actor Anupam Shyam was crucial for some time. The actor had to be admitted to the critical care unit of a hospital in Goregaon seven days ago. He has been suffering from kidney disease for the past one-and-a-half years. Sometime back the Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigyaa actor passed away as he breathed his last due to multiple organ failure. Anupam Shyam faced a major health scare last year due to his kidney ailment. The actor, however, recovered and was soon back in action to shoot for his iconic show — and the character of Sajjan Singh. He still had to periodically undergo dialysis thrice a week.

Anupam Shyam has reprised his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh in Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2. The actor, who plays a conservative patriarch on the show, was confident that the second season of the show will be a hit among the audience. While speaking to media during the launch of Pratigya 2 he said, “We’ll make Pratigya 2 a landmark show as well. There are a lot of things that are relevant in today’s times, which will be shown in this series. The society, family bond, respect and everything is there.” Along with Anupam Shyam, Pooja Gor and Arhaan Behll were also back on the show as Pratigya and Krishna.

Filmmaker Ashok Pandit wrote on his Twitter timeline, “Sad to know about the demise of one of the finest actors & a great human being #AnupamShyam due to multiple organ failure. My heartfelt condolences to his family. A great loss to the film & tv industry. ॐ शान्ति ! ?”
