Shailesh Lodha sues Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah makers for pending dues

Actor Shailesh Lodha has been grabbing attention ever since he quit the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Shailesh played the titular role in Asit Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Lodha had not been paid his fees, as per a Hindustan Times report from last year. Now, according to the latest report, Shailesh has decided to take legal action against the makers of the show.

Shailesh sues TMKOC makers…

According to the report, Shailesh had filed a complaint against the makers in March. The actor reportedly reached out to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to initiate a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9. The report adds that the hearing will take place in May.

Shailesh Lodha refused to comment on the ongoing matter when asked. The actor told Hindustan Times, “The matter is subjudice and under court, so I’ll not comment anything on this.” Asit Modi also chose not to comment when he was asked about Shailesh’s complaint against him and his production company.

Sohil Ramani, the Project Head of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also said, “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said earlier.” He further called Shailesh ‘family’ and added that when he left the show the makers respected his decision.

Sohil also shared, “We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company, when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn’t it better to simply follow the regular procedure?”

When Sohil was about Shailesh’s complaint, he clarified that they have informed the actor to take his payment and ‘sign the required papers’. He even confirmed that they are not taking any legal action.

Shailesh on leaving TMKOC…

It was reported last year that Shailesh had a fallout with TMKOC producer Asit Modi. Earlier this year, at an event, Shailesh was asked about the reason behind quitting TMKOC. At that time, Shailesh took an indirect dig at Asit saying, “In this country, publishers wear a diamond ring and a writer who wants to get his book published, has to shell out money. If people, who earn from the talent of other people, start considering themselves over and above the talented people, then a talented person should raise their voices.”

For the uninitiated, after Shailesh left the show, he was replaced by Sachin Shroff.
