Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Shailesh Lodha finally breaks his silence on exit from the show

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Shailesh Lodha finally broke his silence on his exit from the show. He hinted at why he quit the show. The actor in an interview mentioned that he would reveal the reason behind his exit from the comedy show, when the time is right.

Shailesh Lodha made headlines recently when the news of his exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had surfaced. Later, TMKOC producer Asit Modi confirmed the news. Lodha, who played Taarak Mehta was replaced in the show by actor Sachin Shroff.

Speaking about his exit from the sitcom, Shailesh said he will reveal the reason why he left the show, but only at the ‘right time’. He mentioned that he got attached to the show after working on it for 14 years. The TMKOC actor called himself a ‘sentimental food’

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Lodha expressed his anguish at making an exit from the show. The actor quoted with a verse by Indian poet Bashir Badr to express his disappointment. And, Shailesh further said: “Kuch toh majbooriyan rahi hongi, yun hi koi bewafa nahi hota. (There must have been reasons behind it, people are not unfaithful by choice).”

Speaking in Hindi further, the TMKOC actor continued, “Indians are quite emotional. I call myself a sentimental fool. It’s natural to get attached when you do something for 14 years. I am an impatient man. But the show taught me patience. It’s not like I won’t reveal why I left the show. I will say but only at the right time.”

Meanwhile, talking about Lodha’s exit from the show, producer Asit Modi had said, “Yes, we have cast Sachin Shroff in our show. Sachin is coming in place of Shailesh Lodha in this show. Sachin has also started shooting. With Shailesh, we had tried a lot to find a middle ground but he left the show.” He mentioned how the audience couldn’t be kept waiting for the actor to return, in an interview with Aaj Tak.

Before Lodha, actor Disha Vakani, who played the role of Dayaben also did not return to the show. Since then, rumours of her return to the show have always surfaced. However, it was only recently when reports of Disha Vakani being replaced as Dayaben made headlines.

On the work front, as per reports, Shailesh moved on to work on the show Wah Bhai Wah, post his exit from TMKOC.
