Shefali Shah on ‘Delhi Crime’ bagging Emmy Awards: The show gave me a new lease of life

Shefali Shah is one of the most underrated and underutilised actresses we have in the entertainment industry. The National award-winning actress has once again made us all proud again as recently her web series ‘Delhi Crime’ won the Best Drama Series Award at this year’s International Emmy Awards. Shefali had played the role of the investigation cop in the crime-drama.

Without a doubt, the actress is over the moon and she says the win belongs to the entire team. Read on to know her reaction after she came to know that ‘Delhi Crime’ has won the Best Drama Series Award. The gifted actress also shared how the show has changed her life.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shefali said, “I started screaming like a maniac the moment they announced the winner. Just the show by itself gave me a new lease of life. It changed a lot for me. I mean I was shouting so much that I think the host (TV, film and stage actor Richard Kind) and Richie Mehta sitting in London heard me. I’m so much proud to be a part of the show. Honestly, this win belongs to the entire team. I cannot take the responsibility on my own. I can’t wait to celebrate this with them all.”

Sharing about her husband Vipul Shah’s reaction, the actress says that he is equally elated and that her sons are proud of her. Talking about the show, Shefali told the daily, “The story needed to be taken to the world. I’m possessive and partial to the show. For me, it has always been a winner. The nomination at the Emmys was a humbling experience because here we’re talking about shows that are picked from across the globe.”

The actress went on to say that she is greedy for good roles and stories and now she is waiting for some incredible work coming her way. Directed by Richie Mehta, ‘Delhi Crime’ also starred Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal and Adil Hussain.
